A new WordPress 3.1 update has been released.
One of the new thins is a new place of Network administration to the navigation bar.
If you have a typical install of WP MU there is no problem.
But there is a problem if your install is not typical.
On one of my sites I need to use two copies of WordPress. One single installation is located in a root directory and accessed from www.mydomain.com . And another instance – MU is installed in a subfolder but this is a subdomain install.
Such installation is not proper, but if you have proper .htaccess and wp-config it worked – all sub-blogs worked perfectly. The only problem was, that I couludn’t log in to the main blog – but I didn’t have to use it – Superadmin panel was available after logging into any of sub-blogs, and the main blog was not important for me.
But after update to version 3.1 Superadmin disappeared from the side panel. There is a new link leading to “Network Administration” - domain/wp-admin/network/, and it is not possible to log in.
So if you have not typical / not proper subdomain install of WordPress in a subdirectory, update to 3.1 means no more access to Superadmin panel.
